My Story
Heather graduated from Marathon High School prior to attending Carroll University where she received her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and continued on to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2009. She has since worked in the outpatient orthopedic setting for her entire career. In 2013 she became board-certified as a Sports Physical Therapist and has a passion working with athletes of all ages, including post-concussion vestibular issues. Heather is also certified in Dry Needling through Myopain Seminars and sees a lot of success in using this technique to decrease muscular restrictions and associated pain, such as for tension-related headaches. She has a special interest in working with the prenatal/postnatal population to address pregnancy-related pain and non-pain situations such as improving pelvic floor activation and relaxation with a noninvasive approach, birth prep, core-breathing connection and strengthening, C-section scar management and graduated return to exercise and running postpartum.
Heather has experienced first-hand how functional medicine, nutrition and exercise can improve health and quality of life and brings this broader viewpoint to her PT practice. She is grateful for the opportunity to be part of the CTI team where the parameters of physical therapy are not subject to insurance company limitations and can include a proactive approach to overall health and wellbeing.
During her free time, Heather enjoys training for the occasional running race, playing piano for church and as an accompanist for vocal students, reading, dabbling with sourdough and craft projects and having weekend “adventures” with her husband and kiddo(s).
